Houston, we have a HEARTBEAT!!

I can't even begin to tell you how excited we are. It was a horrible and nerve-wracking weekend, but we made it through and we built a little heart!! Dr. Miracles was really nervous and we could tell he wasn't necessarily expecting great things. But we were all so excited. He was even able to pick up the sound and it was a strong and steady, beautiful heartbeat.

I asked why things were behind and he said he thinks we were probably just a day too early. We're most likely 6w 3d today instead of 6w 4d, which means we may have only been 5w 6d on Thursday and that was likely just too early to pick up the hb. Mere hours can make all the difference.

I can say nothing but THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. For all of the words of encouragement, prayer, hope, just support. You are all seriously the most amazing and wonderful people. I don't know how I would have gotten through this past weekend without having your words to read and re-read, without the great chatzy chat last night, without all of the wonderful support. So thank you.

We still have a really long road ahead of ourselves but we're just thankful to be here.

We've dubbed the little bean "Pokey" or "Poke" for now since it gave us such a scare and just decided to have its heart beat when it was good and ready. It's funny because when I told my sister that, she said, "Yep, Pokey, just like mommy!!" She always jokes about how much of a lollygagger my nephew is and how much it reminds her of me. I'm definitely a piddle-farter, lollygagger, procrastinator...you know, POKEY! So I like that nickname right now. Plus, J went to the Un.iversi.ty of W.yom.ing and they call themselves the Pokes, so he likes it. We may think of another nickname but for now, it's sticking.

Anyway, thanks again. All is good for at least 2 more weeks. We have our next u/s at 8w 4d.
