16 week appointment

I am still working on a few posts but am in the middle of 4,000 different things and can't seem to find the time to take any pictures or get things downloaded.

We're having a huge garage sale this weekend. I'm so excited. Mostly, I can't wait to get rid of a bunch of STUFF! It feels so good to be free of it...already...and it's still packed in my garage! So we have that taking up my every waking at-home hour. Then add in a little sprinkle of house-hunting, meeting with realtors (tomorrow will be our 3rd meeting with a different realtor and last night was our 3rd meeting with a different home builder), trying to decide on a budget, a neighborhood, and basically how we're going to fit all of the things I desperately NEED (like a 3-seasons room, a basement, crown molding, chair rails, granite countertops, a closet as big as my current living know, all the things important to living a sane life!) into a budget that allows us to maintain our current saving habits and lifestyle. I'm only exaggerating a little bit on the desires. Needless to say, we're both a little stressed out. Plus, work is crazy and life in general is just insane. So the poor sweet blog is getting the short end of the stick.

BUT I wanted to make a quick post before I forget the details. We had our first appointment with our actual OB doctor and it went really well. Pokey seems to be plugging away in there. We really liked the doctor, despite him running almost an hour and a half behind. I hadn't gained any weight since my last appointment 3 weeks ago (which I was nervous about because when I went last week because of my swollen legs, I had gained 5 pounds. !!! bad news! Luckily that was obviously just water weight. So I'm up overall about 4 pounds. Not bad. I also got my quad screening so we should know the results of that early next week. But the big news of the day is that I convinced him to let me get my ultrasound at 18 weeks instead of 20!! Yippppee!! I have been losing sleep with some kind of unnerving dreams and am having some anxiety over whether the baby will be okay (which is for another post), so he said he was comfortable letting me get the u/s sooner rather than later. That means we will find out the sex (hopefully!) two weeks from tomorrow!! I am can't get here fast enough!!

Finally, we have picked out a name for a boy. I think. More on that later, too. (Can you guess it?!!?!?) What are your favorite boy names? We have our girl name locked and loaded, but the boy one has been tough. We're pretty much in love with one, but I'm always interested in hearing ideas. (Oh, and his middle name has to be's the last name of some very important people on both of our sides of the family, so it is very fitting.) Let me know your picks for boy names!!!

  1. OMG, that is so exciting!! 2 weeks will go by before you know it! I think boy names are definitely tougher than girls. I've also had my girl name picked out for forever, I think for us the boy name is harder since hubby wants more input, which is fine but harder to come to an agreement!! Can't wait to find out yours!

  2. I totally agree that boy names are harder! We're already about 90% sure on our girl name, but have no idea for boy names. I have the same issue, that hubby cares more about the boys name. I really like the name Holden, but he's not a fan. The other problem is that most of our cousins and friends have had boys, so they've taken many of the names we would have considered. but we have a little more time to wait until we know what we're having, so we have time to find a name. good luck choosing!

  3. Have a great garage sale! We're about to start cleaning out stuff. I forsee four categories - a/ trash; b/ donations; c/ garage sale; d/ keep

    Good luck with choosing names!

  4. Hello from ICLW! Very exciting about knowing the sex in two weeks - wow!!! I have had a girl's name picked out since I was a little girl - told it to my hubs right after we started dating, in fact. Told him he was just going to have to be ok with it... And we're pretty much set on the boy name - but still working through middle names for both... It's so hard - what a responsibility!!!

  5. Good luck with your next appt.

    Happy ICLW!!

  6. how freaking exciting!! I can't wait to hear the sex and the names!

  7. I've been a bit remiss in following you lately and was thrilled to see you're 16 weeks along. Congrats! Hope the bargain shoppers are out in force for your sale.

  8. So glad things are going well for you! I hope you got my giftcard and you've gotten something good!! By the way, I LOVE the name Spencer! So cute! What about making it the first name? My son's name is Logan. I love that name! Logan Spencer has a ring don't you think?! Happy ICLW! (Stress Free Infertility #94)
