Eight Months Old

(This picture is the first time every that she had enough hair to hold a real hairbow! Such a monumental day!)

I can't believe Wren is 8 months old! She is so fun right now. Here are a few updates, mostly for my own records...
Teeth: She still has just her front bottom 2 teeth, which she got at 5 months, 1 week. Just this week we can see her top left front tooth and I expect it to pop through any day. (She usually gets a diaper rash when teething and she had one today, so I think it's around the corner.)

Sleep: Girlfriend is serious about her sleep. She goes down between 7 and 7:30 and she gets up every morning at 7:15. Very rarely she will sleep a little later, but for the most part she's up at 7:15. I love that she sleeps consistently 12 hours a night. I wish I could do that!

Food: We do almost all of her food homemade and organic. We still do purees or mash things up but she's starting to be okay with larger bits of food. We haven't done any meat yet but will be starting on chicken soon. One tip that worked great for us was from our doctor. She suggested starting with vegetables first, making it through all of the veggies and then going to fruits. That way Wren didn't expect all of her food to be sweet. I have to say, it worked perfectly! She loves her veggies! There hasn't been anything that she has hated, but she's kind of finicky about textures. Can't say I blame her.

Crawling: She's working on it! She crawled backwards forever. Literally, she would want something right in front of herself and she would crawl backward in a huge circle just to get it. She's been doing the wiggle worm army crawl for about 1 1/2 weeks now and she's getting pretty quick.

(She has no interest in walking, which is perfectly fine for me and my yet-to-be-fully-babyproofed-house!)

Words: She can say "Dada," "Mama" once in a while, and we're pretty sure she says "Hi." She also signs "Milk" and "More." She is also waving hi.

General Temperment: She's a pretty easy to entertain baby, but she is certainly opinionated and demanding. She can be pretty sassy. For the most part, as long as you sit with her and read or play, she's fine. When you get up to go in another room, she freaks. She doesn't like it one bit. She also gets really pissed when she's hungry and there's no food. Pretty much, she's my kid. Keep her entertained and fed and she's happy, but mess with either of those and watch out!
