I've talked before about my serious obsession with Pinterest. {Find me HERE!}
I've been working these past few weeks at really turning some of my pins into projects. I'm also working on my very own little Pinterest Challenge, complete with a giftcard as prize!! Stay tuned for that in September!

It just so happened that we had a wedding to attend this past weekend, and though I still bought a food processor from their registry, I'm always a big fan of adding my own special, meaningful touch to gifts. I knew immediately that this would be a great project to do!
So I made a quick run to Hobby Lobby and grabbed my supplies and got to work.
One great thing is that this is a really inexpensive, yet very meaningful gift. At first I grabbed a 4-pack of the larger ornaments, but I ended up exchanging them for a size smaller. They were just a little big.
I spent $6 on 4 ornaments (but only used one, so I call that $1.50). It would have been less but I forgot my coupon!
I also got a roll of matching thin organza ribbon, $1.
I grabbed a small gift box that was nice and sturdy, too. This was optional but I didn't want it to get crushed, so that was $2.50.
So from start to finish, I spent $5.
I cut the invitation into small slices. I failed to think about curling the pieces before stuffing them, but I still like how it turned out.
Once they were all in, I slid the entire roll of organza ribbon in. This just made the ball look full and given that the organza is sort of shiny and see-through, I think it will really look beautiful on a lit Christmas tree.
As a finishing touch, I added the ribbon from their invitation and voila!

Love that! So cute.
It turned out really nice! I think the bow on the top was a nice addition too. Oh how I miss Hobby Lobby :(
I love that you were "pinspired!" It turned out lovely and I really like that you were able to incorporate the ribbon from the invite on the ornament.
Obviously..I stole from you..but hopefully credit was given where it was due on FB. Mine isn't so pretty..I might post a pic on my blog, and you can tell me what you think..I think I want to make my bow bigger..and how do I add some bling?
Love this idea! The purple is so pretty. Thanks for linking up with DIY under $5!
